Power terms

Reading much of the cycling literature, the maths behind some of the terms seems to be deliberately clouded. However a good explanation of terms such as normalised powere can be found at http://www.cadencecycling.com/training/blog/2007/11/power-terms.aspx I shall read Coggan's book with interest...

Pictures from Diamond-hf.com Open 10

Here I'm just coming up to the turn. Note that my helmet doesn't fit and that the tubs don't match.

Another look at my terrible position on the bike

Aqua planing

When I rode home last night, I got a bit wet, as it is April and England and this is what you should expect. I did not expect the gentle April showers to turn into a deluge by 7pm. This deluge coincided with the BMCC 7 lap club TT, which was run off with most of the track under water. I've never been so wet in my life, and I hate to think what the water has done to my TT bike, even though I rode it with training wheels. Still, as I won the TT I suppose I can't complain, but I was three minutes off my PB for that course. My HR didn't ride much above 170, perhaps because of the cold wetness surrounding me, but the spin spin spin philosophy of Mr Salbany seems to be paying off.

Now all I have to look forward to is a taper until the Bath CC 10 on Saturday and the Hillingdon 25 on Sunday. Not tapir, I think it is far too late to introduce a small jungle pig into my training plan.

Sunday 7th April

Rest day today but so far this week I've been trying to take into account what Filipe talked to me about.Thius includes moving the position on my TT bike, pedaling faster and rotating my pelvis further forward. It's all making my legs hurt...
